Error while attaching Document in Store Business Document

Hi Experts,

 

   We have configured Archive link property in services for object using OAC0,OAC2

and OAC3 transaction ME51n,ME52n & ME53n.

   AS its construction Industry,There are many remote construction sites of company.

Document attachment functionality is working properly in Near by location. However same thing

does not work in remote location( Sites with low connectivity ).

It is ending up with the message "RFC desintation SAPHTTP inaccessible: Timeout during allocate".

 

 

Can we increase the allocate time while attaching ? If we can,  kindly tel me the procedure.

Or is there any other solution ?

I'm having problem with OpenText Imaging Viewer 10.5 access, only user which installed that application can launch it, the others can't launch (even members of group administrators) and get error message " alviewer Initialization of configuration/logging subsystem failed." (please see below screenshot for more details)

Besides, I installed this app with default settings and all users have access rights (however, the installation with full components also doesn't help)

The host is Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1, in the past with the same system, I've not ever seen this problem.

I'm very worried with the Web DMS (CVAW_ENTIRE) service. I'm not able to see the long text neither the originals applications/file names.

Opentext ECM or Netweaver Portal

Hi Experts,

 

I am not sure if this is the right forum, but the question is related to content management. I hope to get an answer. My business requirement is to on-board vendors using SAP portal as the front end. The intention is the capture information into database (portal DB) and store documents (content server). This is followed by simply workflow between three roles. Vendor, Legal and Admin. Once they are on-boarded a vendor master is created in SAP. There must be a facility to report on data and document stored. In simple this is the only requirement. Now, I feel the way this can be handled is manage most of the things using portal and do not require full blown Opentext ECM.

 

The way I intend to do is to have users maintained in the portal and all the attributes (metadata) is sent to portal db. All the documents uploaded will be stored in the content server ( this necessarily does not need to be opentext) with each document stored with its name& date and time. This way every new version uploaded will be stored in the server. For the workflow, I intend to use SAP Workflow and call it portal when required. Use content server just like a file server but with capability for free text search.

 

The next thing is to provide search facility. Now if attributes are searched, the data is retrieved from the database with a link to the related documents. They can then open the documents by clicking on the link. This would be easier. But I do not know if I can have the reverse, where I want to have free text search and retrieve all the documents containing text without or without the database items.

 

I feel just for this requirement we do not need to have opentext though this is managed in it out of the box.

 

Am I even thinking in the right direction or am I messing up. Please help.

DMS originals Change Documents

Masters,

 

 

 

First of all being a newbie to DMS configuration sorry for being silly if I am.

 

 

I want to know how to set up change documents for Originals in CV01N/ CV02N/ CV03N.

 

 

I have set up the Change documents indicator in Document Type configuration but it shows me only the changes like changes to the name of a document or deletion of a Document.

 

But my concern here is, I not being able to see which document is actually deleted as it does not show up the name of a document deleted.

 

 

I want to show up details something as below:

 

File Name  ||  Changes  || Date           ||  Time     || User Name

abcd.xls    ||   Deleted   || 01.01.2015  ||18:00:00 ||  USER123.

 

 

is there any way to achieve this? By Standard or by development.

Hi,

 

 

I have created two new content repositories in a content server. when i have created the status of the repositories showed "running" but later

status changes to "defined". if i manually click on start button on the CSADMIN screen, it changes to running status.

But later the status again changes to defined. In one content server, three repositories are existing.

How to make the status of repositories to be "running" permanently?

Delete the documents which are associated with document BOM

Dear All,

I need to delete the document which is associated with BOM. I deleted the document using CV12, however the deletion indicator is not displaying in table DRAW. If I go with CV02N and BAPI_DOCUMENT_DELETE to set for deletion indicator, system throws error that "You cannot set the deletion indicator (document is used in a BOM)".

Could you please let me know the path forward to delete the documents which are associated with document BOM.

Print Option in CV03N and Display of ppt files

Dear Experts,

 

I am having 2 queries

 

1)I am using ECL viewer for displaying pdf files, CAD drawings(*.dwg), Images and so forth. Now by default , in CV03N, if I am clicking on the print button( or right click original->print ), only the ECL viewer with the file is displayed. I can take the print from ECL viewer options, but my questions is both display and print functionality of the original seems to be same in CV03N screen, even if I have maintained print activity for the workstation applications in DC30 separately .

Is this a standard feature ?. Kindly throw some light on this

 

2) When I am opening ppt files in CV03N with SAP Office Viewer. By default, the office button is missing. Even though, MS Power point in my PC has the Office button default in it, when I am opening it through CV03N, Office button is missing. For Word and Excel however, it is present. I would like to make it missing, like for ppt files. Is there any method to do this?.

Documents do not Open in New Window

Dear DMS Experts,

 

I have made the settings in DC30 for Workstation application ,and also workstation application in Network for   PDF, WRD, WWI, XLS, ACD, etc,

 

For PDF, the originals are displayed in a new Windows, but for WRD, XLS, it opens in the same window, even with INPLACE and OUTPLACE settings.

 

Secondly, We are using Vault - ZCARR  , If i want to edit the Original , it is saying no value defined and also does not bring that in F4 entries.

Is there any customizing missing ??

 

Lastly, is there a good way to implement dept based hierarchy ? As when i have defined a Hierarchy based on Dept as below, the authorization restrictions not working, as AD1 can also save FIN as its superior document, please guide how to restrict.

Dear DMS Experts,

 

I have a scenario, where we want to restrict users based on Document Types based on Depts. in our company.

For example, for Admin Dept, I want to have a Main Doc, Type  ADM and then Sub Documents as AD1, and AD2 and in the same way FIN as main Finance Doc. Type and FN1, FN2, FN3 as its sub doc. types.

 

Now AD1 and AD2, should not able to create documents under FIN, as its superior document.


What is the best possible way to achieve this scenario.

Create sales orders with reference, without copying the associated DRAD records

We have recently begun associating  test report document  info records (ZTR) to our sales order object VBAP in DRAD via object key sales order/item.  However when creating a new sales order with reference,  new  DRAD table entries  are being created  with the old orders DRAW document numbers and the new orders object key.   How can we prevent this from occurring?          We created a user exit in VA01(SAPMV45A INCLUDE MV45AFZZ to delete these new records, however they are being recreated  after the user exit executes in SAPMV45A  include MV45AF0B_BELEG_SICHERN_VORBERE perform  DOKUMENTE_UMBENENNEN.   Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Getting wrong Original

Hi,

 

we are creating a document in version 01. Creating a file and release the document.

 

Next time do we create a new version 02, with the same file attached, we update the file but keep the same filename in version 02.

 

Now we open the file in version 01, and it look ok.

 

After a while we open the file in version 02, but we get up the file as are stored in version 01.

 

This is not always happening, but to ofen for the users.

 

Any idee how to solve this?

Allowed file formats in DMS

Hi, I'm a basis consultant and I'm having some trouble with DMS consultant

It seems that our ERP 607 is not compatible with DOCD, XLSX, PPTX, VSDX files, because when we upload that kind of files we are not able to view them in integrated viewer

Has somebody useful information about this? any kind of comments?

Dear Experts,

 

We are using BAdI DOCUMENT_STATUS02,In which we are using the Bapi ‘BAPI_DOCUMENT_SETSTATUS‘ to modify previous version of DIR

However with this development Revision Level assignment is failing for document (Revision level is not saved on Release)

 

Please suggest right approach for our requirement.
