I am basically SD consultant. I would like to foray into other module of which i like DMS. As far as I know, there should be a content server along with ECC (R/3) system. I need your proper guidance in the regard.
My questions as follows....
1) Can I do configuration and subsequent testing of DMS without content server as I don't have that server like IDES?
2) If it so, where can I get the configuration documents or steps through in web portal?
3) Can any one of you provide me the sequence configuration steps broadly? Accordingly, I can glance over in websites steps wise configuration.
I hope you will understand my ambiguity situation and guide me.

I recently took over some OpenText Document Archiving tasks and there is one thing bugging me: Wherever I add the PDF Document Type I get the following error, when double-clicking the Document Type:
When the user selects the PDF Document Type with a single click and drag'n'drops a PDF into the white rectangle, there is no error and the file gets archived properly.
I found some tips to check OAA3 and OAA4, but anything I did modify there did not alter the result, so I changed everything back to how it was.
Here are the OAA4 settings:

The above issue is on ERP
While doing a test on ERD I noticed that there the PDF Document Types was not giving the error, but the JPG Document Type did.
ERD: JPG gives Error, PDF is OK.
ERQ: JPG gives Error, PDF is OK.
ERP: JPG is OK, PDF gives Error.
I noticed that in SM30 ( /IXOS/OA_DOCTYPE ) the PDF entry for WebViewer is missing (on all systems) when compared to the OpenText installation Guide, but since the table is the same on all 3 systems but the behavior is different on the 3 systems, I assume this is not related.

I am facing an issue while executing the read program for archiving in DMS.
1. Executed Write program and after the one archive number got created but after assigning the number in read program system is showing attached screen shot with no files.
Please do the needful.

We have enabled Print option for printing the document from J6NY. It works ok when we try to print a document using a Test user in test system in our network on my system(The test user has all the required roles assigned for printing the document from J6NY).
When the Client tries to test it using same test user on his Laptop, he cannot see the print window. But he is able to print the document from the transaction other than J6NY.
We checked below but there is no issue with it.
1) The print queue for default printer on the Client's Laptop, there are no documents available in the queue.
2) The internet settings to see pop up blocker
Any idea what could be the issue and what checks needs to be done in order to resolve this?

Hello All,
We have the below requirement.
a) User Create the RFx(SRM) from PR(ECC) vai CPPR functionality.Now during creation we need to copy the DIR Links of PR to RFx .
b) In SRM RFx ,at item level we need to place a button called "DIR" ,when user click on the button , we need to bring the DMS Attachment POP UP from ECC to SRM , where user can add new DIR or Delete the DIR.
Can we do the requirement "b" ? , is there way we can call the "DMS Attachment Function" from SRM? . Kindly share your thoughts.

I am unable to checkin the originals PLM Web UI and also a duplicate content version gets created. Please see the attached screen shot.
The below message stays for few seconds and then disappears automatically
I checked the content version setting but none of them are activated.
What am I missing here? Kindly advice
When I try to save the DIR I also get "Certificate does not exist" as well.

Am attaching document from cv01n and under object links selects maintenance order number but not taking selected number. I am sure with my settings under SPRO-> maintenance key fields and screen number 231 under object links. Please find my CV02n screen shot.

Hi guys,
I am reading a file as binary in a table from a content repository. This file is downloaded locally on my computer. When opening the file with excel 2010 I get a message that the file is corrupted and can be restored. When I click on ok, the file is restored and I can see the content. I am uploading the created file in my code. So I upload a corrupted file. How can I fix this issue. Downloading from the content repository and uploading should happen in the background without interaction. How can I fix the problem. The mime type is correct.
Is it possible to configure the DMS system so that when you create a document using CV01N and check in the original (using a KPro document type) it will enter it into a content repository by default, without using the pop-up box.
For example a document of type DMO (if DMO it has KPRO checked in it's setup) - always puts the original document in DMS_C1_ST?

Is it possible to limit the workstation applications available to a document type?
For example document type DMO can only use work station application PDF?

The client wants to work with the customers and suppliers in collaborative manner. Thus so, they want to use CFolders and integrate it with DMS.
I have read some forums and found that we can install CFolder as addon.
We are using SAP ECC6.0 EHP6. Could you please guide me what are the steps to be done to install CFolder and integrate it with DMS for document collabration.

Hi team,
User of only a prticualr region is facing this issue. We checked all the things like content server, reposiorty, DC 20.
We are using sap log on pad version 730 so similar error due to 710 is not applicable.We checked RFC desitation also in SM59 which is perfect.

Working in DMS module i have a document Type (JFF) wich must be linked to servarl documents (all the same document type but different from first one, for example CJL). The relationship is that all CJL with a supplier must be linked with one JFF with the same supplier, i mean there´s going to be a relation 1 JFF -- N CJL.
Then when i submit the CJL the link between this document and the document JFF with the same supplier must be created, but i don´t know where or how i might begin.

I am using the Trex 7.0 on windows 2003. My Landscape is ECC6 EHP7, which is recently upgraded from ECC6 SR3.
Now the my trex RFC are not working in the landscape after upgraded to EHP 7, previously it was working good.
My Question is Does EHP 7 is support the Trex 7.0 or not.
If Yes , please suggest me with a solution of why Trex is not connecting.
When i performing connection test in the GUI it is showing error as Program is unable to register.in the TREX Admint tool error showing as Gateway connection estableshed but Error in Gateway connection.
Today we are using DMS documents setted KPRO and keeping attachements at DMS_C1_ST proposed by standard SAP.
Now, we need change documents repository to Content Server HTTP, until now it´s OK. The doubt is, how migrate the old files, that had already been loaded in DMS_C1_ST, to the new Content Server ??? And after this, when we display a document in CV03N we´ll see the attachments ok in the new repository ???
There is a way to do this ??? If someone knows, please let me know.

i'm looking for some insight with workflow for DMS:
I've two document types. Workflow is set to trigger, as the status of document is changed.
Two different worklfow templates get triggered for these two document types. Please check the attachment.
e.g. As shown below, document type CNO has Worklfow template WS91500064 triggered, while document type EDR has Worklfow template WS91500067 triggered.
I'm looking for the link between a document type and workflow template. I mean, question is why WS91500067 for EDR and WS91500064 for CNO.
My guess is something in document type defination/configuration is the difference.
Any help would be appreciated.
